Senior Analyst

Los Angeles, California

The Senior Analyst is a master of FEA and CFD and creates their own codes to assess the reliability of a design.

The Senior Analyst is a computational powerhouse that steps in to save the day when the complexity of an analysis exceeds the what other team members can accomplish. Their experience allows them to see ways to breakdown a system into a network of simpler analyses, or when necessary, diligently power through all the details that make a system model work flawlessly.

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical analysis on critical vehicle elements including primary structures, combustion chambers, and turbomachinery

Perform analysis on propellant and pressurant heat transfer and bulk propellant slosh

Creates processes, systems, and tools that paves the way for a more streamlined workflow

Review analysis performed by the structures and propulsion teams

Mentor design engineers in analysis best practices

What We Look For

Beyond technical prowess, ABL focuses on the following candidate characteristics. Tangible examples are the best way to highlight these during the evaluation process.

1. Critical thinking: ABL engineers understand the "why" behind all design decisions, operational events and test outcomes.

2. Ability to deal with ambiguity: there is no roadmap and ABL engineers must be comfortable defining their own pathway to an objective.

3. End-to-end ownership: projects are delivered fully complete and ready for flight; there is no one to pick up the slack of partially complete work.
